Fifth Grade Information!!
I hope everyone is enjoying the fall! As you know, there are many special 5th grade traditions this year, so please read the following preview of what to expect this year.
There is a $53.50 fee to cover the expenses of the memory book, 5th grade t-shirt, play, picnic, class gift and clap out. Please click here to pay the fee and fill out the form by Friday, December 14. Financial support is available to ensure every student can participate in the festivities - please contact your child's teacher or Ms. Brigham (marie_brigham@waylandps.org). There will also be separate RSVPs and fees to attend the winter and spring town-wide elementary events.
Keep an eye out for emails from the 5th grade activity committee, room parents and teachers to stay informed of important dates/details throughout the year as well as opportunities to help -- we'll need volunteers to support most events!
All the best,
Amanda Harpole and Heather Grimmett (co-chairs), Eliza Mosurick (treasurer) and the 5th grade activities committee

*******SUPPLIES*******SUPPLIES*******SUPPLIES******* SUPPLIES*******
Below is a list of school supplies that your child will need this year. We’d like to get started with our routine as soon as possible, so I would appreciate it if you would send the supplies in on the first day of school.
_______1 durable expandable file folder with at least 5 pockets. This folder will be carried back and forth, from home to school for 180 days. It is used to organize homework and notices, etc. (Five Star brand is great, but any durable expandable file folder will do). This is an example:
_______5 folders with pockets in the following colors: blue, orange, red, purple, green
_______1 three-subject spiral notebook
_______3 one-subject spiral notebooks (wide-ruled not college ruled)
_______2 boxes of pencils with erasers, (please sharpen them before bringing them to school)
_______1 box of colored pencils
_______1 hand-held pencil sharpener
_______1 pencil bag, (not box)
_______2 large glue sticks
_______1 set of personal headphones or earbuds in a labeled plastic bag
There are some really cool school supplies available in stores these days. Please keep the fancy items (ones with noises, fluffy or furry parts, games, etc.) at home. This includes fidget spinners, cubes, slime, and putty. If it is determined that a child would benefit from a tool, one will be provided. It is best for everyone if students just have the basic tools in school. Thank you!!!
PLEASE LABEL ALL ITEMS. THANK YOU!
